Are you struggling to decide what you want to do with your life?
Are you in college, going through the motions, changing majors and not sure where you are headed?
Are you a high school student, overwhelmed with college selection and tired of people asking you about your plans?
Have you left college, working in a job you don't like and not sure what you should do?
Are you and your parents at odds over your direction, or lack of?
If so, you are not alone. Each day, I meet with students just like you. Sometimes, your personality (just the way you are wired) makes these decisions even more difficult. I can show you a way to work through that and determine a career path that will be satisfying and rewarding for you. The ideal situation is to find a career that suits your personality and is in line with your interests. To love what you do and enjoy working is not just a goal. It is a realistic expectation.
We begin by having you take two assessments online. You can do these anywhere, anytime. I only ask that you are relaxed when you take them and that you answer in a way that is honest for you, not the way you think your parent or school counselor want you to respond. I also have you complete a brief form for me.
Then I complete the analysis and schedule a time to meet with you. If you are in the Indianapolis area, we can meet in person. If you are long-distance, I utilize Skype or we can talk via phone. I provide you with a lengthy written report of about 20-25 pages which we review in depth to ensure your questions have been answered. I will suggest about 3-5 career paths that could be satisfying for you, based on your personality and interests. If you want to have a friend or parent with you for the discussion, I welcome their involvement. If you prefer to meet privately, that is fine, too. It is up to you.
At the end of our hour long meeting, you will be given all the material we have reviewed plus additional aids to help you. You also then are able to contact me at any point in the future, as you consider your options or begin to evaluate job opportunities.
